I have witnessed many unions. Many in front of 400 people, and some in front of a few. This one will always hold a special place in my heart. As Samantha and I drove through the hills of Western Pennsylvania, into the Laurel Highlands, our breath was taken away. We drove up a long dirt drive way, up a hill, and found ourself at the house Caitlin and Patrick had rented. When I met them a few weeks earlier at my favorite coffee shop, I knew they were incredible people. I couldn’t have imagined how beautiful this day would be. The colors of the leaves, the sounds of silence, the perfect weather. Two people who are genuinely in love. No fuss. Just a mountain, a few family members, their dog, and some champagne. After they were married, they sat around the fire and watched the sunset, followed by a home cooked dinner.
This is what it is about. The union. The frills can be lovely, but at the end of the day, this is what it is all about. THANK YOU Caitlin and Patrick. I am still in awe.
